Mahjong Wars: cafe.com whups pogo

Mahjongwars2

Man, what are they thinking over at Pogo.com?

I just cant get into their Mahjong games. Literally. Oh dont get me wrong, at my friends behest I really, really tried, but its like they want you to give up in frustration. For starters, the best version of it isnt even available to everyone you have to be a paying VIP.

Oh well, theyve got bunches of others, Ill just try one of them right? Oh, too bad, cant play it in Firefox, so now I have to load up Internet Explorer (ew). Can you say inconvenient? On to the game! Wait, no oh look, IE needs to install software to play the game and the browsers security protocols are blocking its own download. Great. The game better be worth all this trouble.

And meanwhile, I especially love the little add screaming hello at me every time my mouse passes near it. Not. Ok, forget in-browser, Ill just try the downloadable version.

Finally, Im playing. Ok, lots of layouts, pretty graphics, not badnot bad but jeez, can you say boring? And way too easy.

Thats it, I give up. Im going back to Cafe.com. The Mahjong there is just a lot more challenging I just click and play. Dont even have to be a member!

Interview with Cafe.com's biggest fans

Hey all! We've got a special spotlight on todays blog, an interview with Cafe.com's biggest fans: Owatevr, Spartan11738, and candra03; a mother-daughter-son trio who know that a family that plays together, stays together!

I sat down with these close-knit java heads to find out what keeps em coming back to the Cafe. The questions were posed to all three, and answers were provided by Owatevr.

1. First things first, how did you discover Cafe.com? I think I received an emailtelling me about a new game site... so I checked it out. I am so glad Idid... we LOVE playing at cafe.com!

2. Do you have a favorite game to play together? :0) We don't have the samefavorites. The kids like to play Sketch It and I LOVE to play Temple ofMahjong. So, we play both quite a bit. I bribe them to play Mahjongwith me by playing Sketch It with them!

3. What is your strategy to beat each other? Bragging in ourhousehold is definitely something to be had! The kids will stop atnothing (including emailing the tech people for hints) to beat Mom. Andyou'll catch us practicing every change we get to keep our skills sharp!

4. Bragging rights, huh? So who brags the most? Mom [Owatevr], by far! At my age, these are the things you look forward to!

5. Ok, but who WINS the most? [My Son] Spartan usually mops the floor withus when we play Sketch It, but Mom [Owatevr] RULES at Temple ofMahjong! [My daughter] Candra is only 8, so she doesn't have the grossmotor skills yet to be a real threat... but she's developing themeveryday!

6. What's it like getting to play together with your family like this? It's a lot of fun! It makes computer time "family time" that we can allenjoy. The kids have 2 older sisters also, but being older teenagersand all we can't get them to play with us... they don't know what theyare missing!

Wow, isn't this nice? More families should get together like this! Keep playing guys, and good luck. Thanks for the interview, and I hope you manage to get those other two girls on. You're right, they're totally missing out!
